By promoting your blog across the internet, you can increase your readership. There are lots of ways to do this. Below are just some of the different ways to improve your blog’s web presence.

Get interactive on social media

Social media is a great place to share your blog posts and connect with new readers. Many people make the mistake of not being social on social media. Socially interacting with other users will help you to build a loyal following on social media – these followers are more likely to then check out the blog content that you share on these platforms.

Make an effort to follow other blogs and interact with their content by leaving comments or sharing their posts. Meanwhile, if people leave comments on your posts or reply to your content, thank them and try to start conversations where possible.

Generate SEO-friendly content

SEO stands for search engine optimization. It involves optimizing a web page so that it ranks higher on search engines like Google and Bing. You can do this by using keywords, hyperlinks and optimized images.

By optimizing your blog posts, you can connect with more readers who may be trying to look up your content on search engines. It’s possible to do your own SEO or you can hire an SEO company to help you (this latter option can often be more effective as SEO can be quite complex). There are lots of guides on how to use SEO on a blog online.

Consider paying for advertising

Paid adverts are a great way to reach out to new readers. You can pay to boost posts through Facebook – usually when you share posts on Facebook, it will only reach your followers, however boosting a post allows you to reach users that don’t follow you. You can also use Google Ads to promote your blog – this allows you to display adverts on other sites leading to your blog and to create search engine adverts.

You can launch ad campaigns yourself. Alternatively, you can hire a company to help with Facebook advertising and Google Ads management – this could ensure that your adverts look great and that the right parameters are set. Run advertising campaigns regularly to keep attracting new readers.

Connect with other bloggers

You may also be able to improve your blog’s web presence by connecting with other bloggers. You could share their blog content in exchange for them sharing yours – this allows you to both share each others’ audience of readers. It could also be possible to write content on one another’s blogs.

You can connect with other bloggers via direct messages on social media or by emailing them. Some bloggers may not be up for cross-promotion, but you could find that many bloggers are willing to give it a go – especially blogs of a similar size who cover similar content (if you run a food blog, you’ll obviously want to connect with other food bloggers and not blogs that have nothing to do with your blog).
